“For 2006 I have a very busy year planned with a Pirelli testing contract to help them develop competition tyres. As part of this contract I also drive through all stages of the WRC relaying information back to the Pirelli technicians who then offer tyre selection advice to Pirelli runners in the WRC including Subaru.

I will also be defending our British Championship Title competing in a Pro-drive built Subaru, with backing from Pirelli and Stobart VK. The Subaru will be run by Phil Morgan Motorsport.

Most people are aware that Mark’s family own and operate one of the UK’s premier rally schools. Namely the “Forest Experience” based Nr Newtown, (Carno) in Mid Wales.

This is the only rally school that utilises a genuine forestry based venue and near by family run accommodation and conference facilities.

Alongside Mark’s family rally school he can also offer a wide range of exciting corporate entertainment including tailored packages of rally cars, off road 4x4s, Quad Bikes, claypigeon shooting, demo rides in genuine WRC rally cars and helicopter flights

Spectating on the rally couldn’t be easier as we will arrange a personal chauffer and several people carriers to accommodate our group of more than 20. These vehicles will have experienced rally drivers who know the area and who will be in radio communication with the event officials???? and the vehicles will have appropriate passes for restricted areas.

This will be most peoples first time watching a rally and we will remain flexible when planning each day’s activities.
We will generally meet each evening at an appropriate bar or restaurant in the local town to plan the following days schedule. We appreciate that several people may wish to visit City centres and tourist locations rather than take all three days Spectating opportunities.

Marks CV

Being born on the notoriously Motorsport mad Isle Of Man, Mark’s introduction to Motorsport started at the age of 9 when he took up karting helped by his mother and father who themselves where regular competitors on Manx rallies.

By the age of 17 Mark had successfully competed in a range of Motorsport activities such as trial bakes and Karts. He impressed many people as a young man and soon attracted the attention of Manx business man Roy Dixon who took the young Higgins under his wind and at just 17 Mark began his professional Motorsport carries with a trip to Sweden to learn from the legendary Finn Timo Mackinen and Anders Kulang. (Roy marinated his role as Marks mentor throughout his career and to this day is Marks bossiness partner!).

Throughout his early teens Mark continued to impress with stunning performances in his 1.3 Suzuki Swift and by his late teens had become works driver for Dealer Team Vauxhall in the UK in 1992.

By this time Mark was regularly employed as a competition-driving instructor by the UK’s premier rally schools and racetracks. His friendly and smart appearance linked with his knowledge of cars also helped secure some of the most prestigious promotional and training work for car manufactures with their car launches.

Mark is one of the select few who can boast working contracts with Mercedes, Ford, Vauxhall, Jaguar, Subaru whilst also working very closely with many of the worlds best drivers.

By his twenties Mark had built a reputation as one of the leading drivers in the UK and in 1997 age 25 he became British Rally Champion driving for the works Nissan Team. Following the UK title Mark was recruited to campaign a Nissan Almera in the World Championship and at this point began an extensive test and development carer working for several leading manufactures.

An addition to his driving work Mark has also became heavily involved in Media and Television work. Presenting several TV Shows including “Ultimate Bike Show” and “Mad Men From Manx” as well as guest presenting on many WRC and British Championship programs.

Throughout his career Mark has driven in teams with Colin MCrae, Carols Sainz Marco Martin. His best rally results include several top 10 over all performances on WRC events including 6th on Rally GB, 8th on Rally Greece and Sardinia. His experience includes testing on the Safari and many races in touring cars.

Most recently he has won GPN categories in Grease and Sardinia along side his total dominance of 5 wins out of 7 events in the 2005 UK Championship.

Now in his early thirties Mark is renowned across the world as one of the fastest privateers in the world championship and driving his Stobart VK backed Ford Focus became the British Rally Champion in 2005. During 2005 mark competed on several world rally championship rounds with immense success, on 2 occasions actually posting times faster than all other drivers on special stages on Rally Greece and Wales Rally GB.

Today Mark is one of the busiest men in Motorsport being employed by Pirelli for tyre testing alongside his bid to win the British rally championship for the 3rd time in his Stobart VK Subaru and not forgetting his many days of running corporate days and coaching rally drivers!
